"Mortal Engines: War of the Cities" on RTL
In "Mortal Engines: War of the Cities" (RTL) mankind fights for the last resources after a catastrophe. In Dortmund's "Tatort" (Das Erste), the corpse of a young woman is a mystery. And the reporter Eddie Brock merges with an alien to "Venom" (ProSieben).

After a global catastrophe, the earth is devastated. People live in gigantic metropolises on wheels and roam the earth in search of food and valuable resources. Tom Natsworthy (Robert Sheehan) lives in the moving fortress of London, where he meets the mysterious Hester Shaw (Hera Hilmar), whose city was attacked and destroyed. Now Hester wants revenge on Thaddeus Valentine (Hugo Weaving), who is in charge in London, and asks Tom for help.

After a fire in the basement of the Gerberzentrum, a high-rise housing estate in Dortmund, the charred body of a young woman is found. The new member of the Dortmund homicide squad, Rosa Herzog (Stefanie Reinsperger), quickly realizes that the victim was slain. There are also indications of attempted rape. During the investigation, the team is confronted with racism, police violence and fake news.

The journalist Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) discovers the dark machinations of the unscrupulous researcher Dr. Carlton Drake (Riz Ahmed). When Brock merges with the alien Venom, one thing becomes clear to both of them: They have to stop Drake.

Katja (Simone Thomalla) and her intern Lilly (Julia Beautx) look after a remote alpine pasture because the owner is in the hospital. Suddenly weird things happen, up to and including a fire that breaks out in front of the hut. The mountain pasture owner reports about a neighbor who has been harassing him for a long time. When Katja confronts them, she begins to understand who is actually up to mischief here.

Louisa (Emilia Clarke), 26, takes a job with the wealthy Traynor family. She is supposed to support and entertain the paralyzed son, Will. But the bitter Will (Sam Claflin) rejects Louisa. He also has other plans that Louisa doesn't fit into. Will's father Stephen (Charles Dance) has deliberately concealed from Louisa that Will is already planning the end of his life by means of a so-called "assisted suicide" in Switzerland. For the sake of his parents, he postponed the trip to Switzerland for six months, i.e. a full six months.
