In "The interrogation in the night" (ZDF) a police officer and a professor go into a psychological duel. The first accompanies the astronaut Alexander Gerst on his expedition to the South Pole. In "Die purple rivers" (ZDF) an African ritual murder keeps the investigators in suspense.

On Christmas Eve, the philosophy professor Judith (Sophie von Kessel) is stopped by the police officer Thomas (Charly Hübner) because she is suspected of having planned a terrorist attack. He has to find out the truth. Judith wants to visit her parents when she is arrested in her hotel room. Thomas is supposed to find out whether she and her ex-husband Julian want to detonate a bomb that evening and where it is. Judith protests her innocence.

Extraterrestrial traces can also be found on Earth. Who better to track them down than someone who has spent almost a year in space: astronaut Alexander Gerst. With a team of experts, he dares to venture through Antarctica to near the South Pole. He recorded his experiences during the exciting research adventure in an impressive personal video diary.
8:15 p.m., Sat.1, Sister Act 2 – On a divine mission, comedy
At the request of her friends from the convent, Las Vegas singer Deloris Van Cartier (Whoopi Goldberg) throws herself on again in the nun's costume in order to save a bunch of lively kids and the financially troubled school as sister Mary Clarence. Not an easy task, as it soon turns out. However, as always, Sister Mary Clarence has her own methods of dealing with the situation.

15-year-old Caro (Anna Bachmann) falls in love with the smart 19-year-old Cem (Samy Abdel Fattah). What at first looks like Caro's great luck soon turns out to be a single nightmare. While Cem Caro pretends to be great love and systematically isolates it from its social environment, Caro is on cloud nine. When he begins to use violence and threats to force her into prostitution, there seems to be no turning back. When the parents realize the precarious situation their daughter is in, they try everything to help Caro so that she can find her way back to her old life
10:15 p.m., ZDF, The Purple Rivers – The Ritual, Thriller Series
The body of a young woman is found in the vicinity of Nord-Pas-de-Calais. She came from Mali and apparently came from the nearby refugee shelter. The circumstances surrounding her death indicate an African ritual murder. During the investigation, Commissioner Niémans (Olivier Marchal) and his colleague Camille Delaunay (Erika Sainte) encounter hostile tribal groups, corrupt police officers and unscrupulous human traffickers.
