In "Werk ohne Autor" (Das Erste) the life of a painter is overshadowed by the Nazi era. Captain Reinhartz loses the support of his team in "Das Boot II" (ZDF). In "We buy a zoo" (Sat.1) Matt Damon experiences an animal adventure.

The GDR in the 1950s: the highly talented painter Kurt Barnert (Tom Schilling) is on the way to becoming a major artist of socialist realism. At the Dresden Art Academy he met the talented fashion student Ellie (Paula Beer). For both of them it is love at first sight – and Kurt soon moves into the upper-class villa of Ellie's family as a subtenant. Kurt has no idea that her father, the respected gynecologist Professor Seeband (Sebastian Koch), had to go into hiding under a false name in the workers 'and peasants' state because of his Nazi crimes.

8:15 p.m., ZDF, Das Boot II (2), world war drama series

While the Jewish families in La Rochelle are about to be transported to Poland, the captains of Reinhartz (Clemens Schick) and Wrangel (Stefan Konarske) have to fight with the crews of their submarines in the Atlantic. Von Reinhartz loses his crew's support because of his plans to surrender to the Americans and hand over the Enigma machine on board. For his part, Wrangel finally has "U-822" in sight and wants to sink it and its crew.

8:15 p.m., Sat.1, We're buying a zoo, family drama

After the death of his wife, Benjamin Mee (Matt Damon) wants to start over: The journalist is looking for a new home for himself and his two children Rosie (Maggie Elizabeth Jones) and Dylan (Colin Ford) – and finds a whole zoo! He buys the demolished zoo and spruces up the site. He is supported by the attractive zookeeper Kelly (Scarlett Johansson), who has taken a liking to Benjamin. In order not to go bankrupt, they must open as soon as possible. Easier said than done.

When the daughter of the Chinese consul Han is kidnapped in Los Angeles, this inspector calls in Lee (Jackie Chan) from his homeland as reinforcements. The FBI is not keen on the interference in their work and assigns Lee the chaotic cop Carter (Chris Tucker) as a partner.

8:15 p.m., ONE, Die Verlegerin, political media drama

Washington, 1971. Katharine "Kay" Graham (Meryl Streep) faces a challenge as the publisher of the traditional Washington Post: She wants to make the stagnating company profitable by going public. The editorial team is led by Ben Bradlee (Tom Hanks), who wants to compete with the overwhelming New York Times. When a scandalous story about the true background of the Vietnam War appears there, Ben immediately puts his reporters on the unknown source in order to get at the top secret "Pentagon Papers" himself.
