Twelve years after the disappearance of her three-year-old daughter without a trace, Stefanie (Alwara Höfels) sees a teenager in the supermarket and knows with the instinct of a mother: This is her Michelle (Lilly Barsh)! Little by little the inconceivable truth comes to light: In an exceptional psychological situation, Ruth (Katharina Wackernagel) kidnapped the girl on the beach and accepted her as her own. Since then, the now 15-year-old has been growing up with Ruth. An emotional roller coaster ride begins for the girl and everyone involved.
