In “Today Kainer dies here” (Das Erste), a terminally ill early retiree plays Wild West in the country. The “Ocean’s Eleven” (kabel eins) are planning the biggest casino robbery of all time and in “Silk Road” (Tele 5) a young hacker dares to venture into the Darknet.

Ulrich Kainer (Martin Wuttke), an urban hermit and early retiree with a questionable past, has to discover that death has his sights firmly on him. Nobody will miss him, nobody is waiting for him. So he decides to spend his last days in the quiet of a tranquil village. However, he did the math without the village and its residents. A landlord who sells him as a professional killer in the fight against his adversary, a beautiful, but single-parent, affectionate farmer (Britta Hammelstein) and an avant-garde Nazi troop refuse him the longingly awaited rest.
