“Veterinarian Dr. Mertens” (ZDF) says goodbye to the Leipzig Zoo. In “We and the Virus”, ZDF takes stock of the one year corona pandemic. In “Fast & Furious 6” (RTL) Vin Diesel and his crew have to stop an insane criminal.

8:15 p.m., Das Erste, veterinarian Dr. Mertens: Big decisions, family series

When Susanne (Elisabeth Lanz) informs her boss that she will go on maternity leave immediately, the zoo director is speechless. Susanne’s suggestion that her assistant Karoline Schneider (Maxine Kazis) should take over the provisional management of the veterinary practice is rejected by the director: Karoline has to prove herself first! But then a sea lion has eye problems and only a nictitating membrane operation can help him. This is Karoline’s chance.

8:15 p.m., ZDF, We and the Virus – Faces of the Pandemic, Documentary

One year after the first corona shutdown in Germany, the focus is on the victims: What does this pandemic do to infected people, survivors, relatives of the deceased? And what does such a crisis of the century mean for the economy, who has not survived financially? Responsible politicians are confronted with questions and allegations from those affected. And the gaze is directed forward: What’s next – are the vaccinations the light at the end of the tunnel?

8:15 p.m., RTL, Fast & Furious 6, action thriller

Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and Brian O’Connor (Paul Walker) live peacefully with their families in the Canary Islands. Financially, they are secure and could enjoy their retirement – if it weren’t for the certainty of never going back home. But then FBI agent Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) makes the thieves an offer: If they manage to catch the gangster Shaw (Luke Evans), they will be forgiven for all crimes. But Shaw gets help from an old friend: Dom’s friend Letty (Michelle Rodriguez), believed to be dead, is involved in the robberies.

Inspector Lukas Laim (Max Simonischek) has the rope cut from which a corpse is hanging from the bridge on Praterinsel. Strange red marks can be found on their belly. The dead person is a notary from Grünwald, who is known around town as a patron of Jewish art. And the marks on his stomach are Hebrew and mean “retribution”. Retaliation for what? And why the Hebrew script? Shortly afterwards, Laim learns of a blackmail letter to his mother signed with the Hebrew word “Shilem”.

When Kate Forster (Sandra Bullock) moves out of her lonely lake house, she leaves a message in the mailbox for her new tenant. This leads to a pen friendship with the architect Alex Wyler (Keanu Reeves), and this friendship soon grows into love. But then they discover that the mailbox through which they exchange their letters holds a secret: While Kate lives in 2006, it is only 2004 for Alex.
