Her family is still a long way from overcoming the death of Chief Inspector Julia Thiel. Widower Stephan Thiel (Peter Schneider) mourns to the point of neglect, while Karin Lossow (Katrin Sass) is desperately looking for distraction. Then the wealthy restaurateur Ingo Wiek is attacked. The attack fails, the victim and the perpetrator, the petty criminal Jens Kampwirth (Vincent Krüger), are killed. The traces on the scene indicate that the young man had an accomplice.
