TWENTYLESS from "The Lion's Den": BRIGITTE tested it

Is your closet soon overflowing with plastic detergents? This is exactly where TWENTYLESS comes in: The practical cleaning concentrate in glass bottles deliberately avoids plastic. BRIGITTE tested it for you.

Every day we produce huge amounts of plastic waste. Time to change something, especially for the sake of the environment. And this is where TWENTYLESS from "Die Höhle der Löwen" comes into play. As the name suggests, the cleaning agents are as economical as 20 conventional 500 ml ready-to-use cleaners in plastic bottles. With another important difference: The cleaning agents come in glass bottles and contain natural, biodegradable and renewable ingredients. But is that enough? And can the product convince investors in "Die Höhle der Löwen"?

TWENTYLESS: What is behind the sustainable plastering system?

Founder, Eike Meyer, is constantly converting his household to sustainability and plastic waste avoidance. His children gave him the impetus. So it came about that he wanted to save plastic for the sake of the environment and his idea TWENTYLESS originated. In "Die Höhle der Löwen" he now presents his sustainable cleaning set in glass bottles. Eike Meyer, inventor of TWENTYLESS:

When my children first talked about sustainability at school, they suddenly started turning everything upside down at home! As a family, we wanted to save plastic in particular for the sake of the environment and found alternatives in many areas – only I was missing something when cleaning. So I came up with the idea of developing a cleaning system in glass bottles!

TWENTYLESS at "The Lion's Den"

The idea of sustainable cleaning agents comes at just the right time, because those who think sustainably are trendy. Rightly so, as we think! The founder of TWENTYLESS seems to be doing a lot right, because instead of just one product he comes around the corner with three products: an all-purpose cleaner, a glass cleaner and a bathroom cleaner. This is how thorough cleaning works with a clear conscience. But does the founder also get a deal with an investor? Unfortunately, we won't find out until this Monday evening, from 8.15 p.m. on Vox.

This is what TWENTYLESS promises

  • Less plastic waste: TWENTYLESS is as economical as 20 conventional cleaning agents in 500 ml plastic bottles
  • The cleaning set consists of a glass bottle with 500 ml concentrate, a reusable dosing cap and a spray glass bottle
  • Mix it yourself at home: 25 ml concentrate plus 475 ml water
  • Naturally powerful cleaning: With biodegradable and renewable ingredients
  • Thorough cleaning: TWENTYLESS all-purpose cleaner with a mango scent for all water-resistant surfaces, TWENTYLESS glass cleaner without fragrances for windows, mirrors and Co. and TWENTYLESS bathroom cleaner with a fresh scent against limescale and water stains as well as soap residues
  • Attractive design in elegant glass bottles

This is how the detergents work

Using TWENTYLESS is super easy.

  1. Simply shake the concentrate bottle before use.
  2. Then use the dosing cap to fill 25 ml into the empty glass bottle.
  3. Fill the rest of the bottle with 475 ml tap water – done!
  4. If the pollution is stronger than normal, you can simply use 50 ml of the concentrate instead of 25 ml.

TWENTYLESS in the BRIGITTE test

To me, BRIGITTE editor Mareike, sustainable cleaning agents always sound super exciting. Because, like founder Eike Meyer, I have been changing our household for about two years in order to save some plastic waste and to protect the environment. A sustainable cleaning agent is still on my agenda today. So it's a good opportunity to take a closer look at TWENTYLESS.

TWENTYLESS: "The Lion's Den" product, detergent, glass bottles

The first impression

First, I empty my cleaning cupboard to make space for the glass bottles. And finally there they are, the sustainable cleaning agents that should give me a clear conscience, even while cleaning. All three cleaning agents from TWENTYLESS smell super pleasant to me and not at all artificial, harsh or too intense like conventional cleaning agents from the drugstore. The instructions before the first use are super easy and quickly put into practice.

The only thing that "bothers" me about the product is that the dosing cap and the spray head are made of plastic. However, I haven't seen plastic-free alternatives to this either and the size of these two things that contain plastic are really small.

While cleaning

While I wander from room to room cleaning our apartment as usual, I mainly notice one difference to the previous cleaning: the chic glass bottle. If the cleaning agent fell off the edge of the bathtub while cleaning or if I knocked it over on the floor, I now have to be a little more careful when cleaning so as not to destroy my new and beloved glass bottles. Otherwise cleaning is just as easy as before, only with no scent or a natural, pleasant scent.

I am already excited about how little concentrate is needed for just one glass bottle and how often you can use it afterwards until you have to refill the bottle with new concentrate.

My conclusion

TWENTYLESS is really super economical and definitely my new helper when cleaning. The cleaning agents smell much more pleasant and natural than conventional cleaning agents, produce a super nice and above all clean result and also look much better in the cupboard.
It is no secret that you can cleanse powerfully with natural ingredients, but it is definitely a benefit for our nature.
