Twilight: New movies planned? So the new books could save the saga around Bella and Edward

The grand finale of the “Twilight” series was not well received by every fan. However, with her newly planned novels, author Stephenie Meyer could finally give the story a fitting ending. Even new films are very conceivable.

  • Stephenie Meyer is writing two all-new novels for the “Twilight” saga.
  • The new books could help bring the series’ mixed-reception finale to a better ending.
  • Since the “Twilight” series still enjoys great popularity, it is even possible that new films await us.

While the “Twilight” saga, starring Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, was a smash hit for writer Stephenie Meyer, the series’ ending disappointed many fans. The new novels of the “Twilight” series could now convert displeasure into joy and thus give the pathetic finale a lot of impetus.

Whether plot holes or lack of accuracy. There were many legitimate criticisms of the “Twilight” film adaptation. Especially the last film in the series “Breaking Dawn – Biss zum Ende der Nacht, Teil 2” caused displeasure.

Above all, the grand finale, for which the makers had considered a different outcome than in the books, was severely criticized. There is a big battle between the Cullens and Volturi in which both sides suffered numerous losses. In the end, however, it turns out that everything was a vision of Alice and never happened.

Disappointingly for fans, after all, the movies were far more action-packed and teased a much more exciting ending than the books. Stephenie Meyer’s latest novels could now correct this “mistake” and put the story back in order so that “Twilight” expects a fitting ending.

So “Twilight” could emerge from oblivion again

Stephenie Meyer has been planning a sequel to her book series for several years. So far, however, she has only re-told her existing stories. There is a “Biss Anniversary Edition – Bite for Dawn / Bite for All Eternity” in which Beaufort Swan meets the mysterious Edythe Cullen. This novel is the same love story as Bella and Edward, only the gender roles have been reversed.

Meyer’s new 2020 novel Biss zur midnightsonne doesn’t reinvent the story of “Twilight” either. The book simply tells the story from Edward’s point of view. Probably the only reason why the last two “Twilight” novels didn’t get their own movie is that they tell the same story as the existing movies. However, for a new “Twilight” spin-off to be successful, the focus would have to shift away from Bella and Edward.

Instead of delving deeper into Edward’s dark past or following Bella’s life as a vampire, it would make much more sense to focus on her daughter Renesmee, for example.

This would give the franchise a fresh start and give the franchise a fresh new perspective. Meyer wouldn’t have to break with her story, but she wouldn’t have to try to straighten out the unpopular ending either. Guest appearances by popular characters would also be conceivable. An appearance of Bella and Edward would not be excluded, although Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson will certainly not return to their roles.
