The timeless board game Twister returns in a modernized form, with Twister Air.
This new generation of Twister gives pride of place to augmented reality, music and, more unexpectedly, solo play.
The Twister of your childhood takes a little air
You must have played it one day, Twister is a board game that consists of contorting yourself in all directions, so as to place your feet and hands on the requested colored pellets, the goal being to be the last to keep the balance. The first edition of Twister dates from 1966.
Today, the Hasbro group has decided to give this same Twister a facelift, with a brand new modernized version called Twister Air. This version uses a free app that brings the classic Twister game from carpet to screen using augmented reality.
A more modern Twister, but less “Twister”?
Twister Air comes with 8 colored bracelets intended to wrap around the wrists and ankles. In addition, there is a base which can accommodate a connected device on which the application will have to be run (and whose image it will be preferable to duplicate on a Smart TV, for optimal user comfort ).
The principle is simple: players must move their hands and feet in rhythm trying to match their wrist and ankle bracelets with the colored dots displayed on the screen. Obviously, the game uses the sensor of the smartphone or tablet to display all these beautiful people in the image, thanks to the magic of AR (like at IKEA).
Twister Air therefore removes the iconic mat from the original game and adds a musical dimension to the basic principle, with a total of 16 music available. Unlike the original game, it is possible to play this Twister Air solo, but also as a duo (in Versus mode or in Team). Can we really still talk about real Twister?

The release is scheduled for the beginning of June, with a price set at 19.99 dollars across the Atlantic.
