During his last live, the Joueur du Grenier (JDG) expressed his concerns about a phenomenon visible for almost 2 years on the networks, in particular Twitter and Twitch: the clear separation between the two largest communities of the French Twitch game.
Finding on one side what he calls the “expanded Monday community” and on the other the “KCorp community”, he evokes the distinct separation between these two groups. He also regrets the dangerous side that this separation brings to the networksgiving rise to a lot of hateful behavior and vague harassment between these two entities.
The old against the new
This separation that JDG deplores has been visible for 2 years and the various confinements in 2020 during which a “new wave” of streamers on Twitch, like AmineMaTue or RebeuDeter who brought together a new community made up of younger people. On the other side, we would have the avant-garde of Twitch made up of the oldest of the platform like ZeratoR, MisterMV, and a community apparently totally opposed to the first.
A separation that has increased, for example, this year since the withdrawal of a good number of streamers from the last ZEvent 2022 (Gotaga, Kameto, Squeezie, Michou, Inox, Locklear, Amine and Billy among others), with the communities who are looking for senseless reasons for their withdrawal despite the reactions of those concerned who calm things down. Or the various accusations around sexism or harassment, recurring subjects of contention with, as the latest, Ponce who reproached certain personalities for being part of AmineMaTue’s Eleven All Stars last weekend.
Concerns justified or not?
Real separation or fantasy of networks? This statement has already elicited some reactions like Kotei’swhich deplores certain passages and in particular the name “random” of one of these two entities, that of the KCorp.
A reaction to which JDG hastened to respond: “everyone does their thing would work, but only in a world where there is no Twitter” and that it is necessary “show the community that everyone gets along well and that we can do things together so that everyone calms down on this network of hells”.
Because despite a total separation of communities on the networks in appearance, it still doesn’t seem to be the case between the affected streamers who continue to do events together. Witness this year the multiple KCulture (quiz show between streamers of Kameto) where many streamers from “the other side were invited”, or even the happening of Antoine Daniel in the Netflix show of Amine and Billy. These examples show that unlike their communities, most streamers still seem to like each other and regret the behavior of their respective fans.
A problem as often linked to Twitter therefore, but we can always dream of a JDG x Kameto x Amine / Billy arc on Crusader Kings which would calm the spirits and unite the country, who knows?
