Twitch: Squeezie’s GP Explorer beats the audience record on the platform in France

It was one of the big events of the year on the Twitch platform. Initiated by the streamer and youtuber Squeezie, the Formula 4 GP Explorer race, bringing together content creators on the Le Mans circuit, brought together more than 40,000 people on site and exceeded one million viewers on its creator’s channel, a historical record in France.

Nearly 40,000 spectators were present on Saturday in the stands of the Le Mans circuit to attend the first edition of the GP explorer in which streamers and youtubers participated on F4s, announced the Automobile club de l’Ouest (ACO). “The first edition of GP Explorer, a race which brought together 22 creators of digital content on the Bugatti circuit, was won by Sylvain Vilebrequin. This event brought together nearly 40,000 spectators”, indicated the ACO, which organizes the races on the prestigious Sarthe circuit, on its website.

A first on the Twitch streaming platform

“A world first widely followed on Twitch. The Squeezie channel has also recorded a record audience with more than one million viewers, a historic record in France,” added the ACO. After having competed in free practice and qualifying on Saturday morning, the 22 drivers competed in a race of fifteen laps.

Squeezie, who has more than 17 million subscribers on YouTube and instigator of this race, ranked fifth, according to the same source. Concerts by Bigflo & Oli, Myd and Bianca Costa enlivened the afternoon before the start of the race, which took place at 5 p.m.
