The Twitch streaming service is in great shape, having just recorded two records, including that of the number of active channels which exceeds 5 million.

In January, Twitch broke a record dating back to August 2022: that of the number of active channels on its streaming platform. The latter reached 5.07 million last month, up 7%. These are 300,000 channels more than in December. The service has never been more popular with the streaming community.

Games, streamers and spectators: Twitch has largely united at the start of the year

Twitch can also boast of another significant performance, in connection with the number of active channels in January. The average number of simultaneously active channels jumped by 13% last month to approach the 100,000 mark, at 97,545 to be exact.

The number of featured games in streamers’ broadcasts also peaked in January, reaching 42,264. The previous record was brand new, dating back to last December, with 40,376 games. Year over year, the number of games streamed on Twitch increased by 22%.

Finally, a word about the viewers. The trend is once again on the rise. Thus, in January, they were on average some 2.55 million to be simultaneously connected to the platform every day. Another great success for Twitch, which had not federated so much since August 2022 (2.61 million). Since last summer, the number has been falling almost constantly. What start 2023 under the best auspices for the service of Amazon.
