The meta hot tub of Twitch been debated since its recent popularization. The hot-tub stream is the fact of launching a live in a kind of jacuzzi (in swimsuit of course) and to carry out various pledges there or quite simply to discuss with its community… in a bikini on its inflatable mattress.
While many would like to see this type of content disappear from Amazon’s platform, others defend hot-tub streamers because they cannot be blamed for taking advantage of a system that values them. As some say, as long as there are people to spend subs there, why would they stop?
Although this type of stream is debated, it is still authorized on the platform but of course has its limits. One streamer in particular tested them… and paid a high price!
The bikini too…
For the past few months, a streamer by the name of brianas_w0rld got noticed for her hot-tub lives, during which she has a whole bunch of sub goals including “if a viewer gives me $20, I write their name on my body”. On October 18, Briana launched her live as usual, in a bikini much more suggestive than the others.
As a result of’a yoga session on the edge of adult content which shocked most of the netizens who shared the video, the channel of brianas_w0rld was banned by Twitch.
The streamer saw it coming
Of course, Briana is aware that its content is sometimes borderline correct on the platform. On her YouTube channel, on which she posts replays of her lives, she writes: “Hi, I’m Briana and I do very inappropriate content, but I’m very nice”.
No one knows when the streamer’s ban will end and the latter has yet to express herself on her social networks. Although she doesn’t seem ready to give up the hot tub anytime soon, this ban has still sparked a debate on the networks: where is the limit to this type of content?
Although many question the investment of Twitch in this type of debates, it seems that for some time, the platform has hardened its policy. Recently, a content creator saw her channel get permanently banned after having coitus in full live… two times in a row. While his first one-week ban had sparked the wrath of some users who had questioned Twitch’s judgment, his second was categorical.
Although the two cases are very differentthis proves to us all the same that Twitch seems to listen to its users unhappy to see suggestive content on the platform. Is the era of hot tubs coming to an end?
