continues to make its platform more accessible to everyone. While Google has recently put the package on the accessibility options for its applications and services, the social network with the blue bird continues to improve its functionality allowing to add alternative text to images.
An option deployed since 2016 to help blind or visually impaired people and those using assistive technologies, but who still lacked visibility. Twitter is finally correcting the situation with new improvements.
Alternate text changes
The platform announced this Friday, March 11 to test new accessibility options intended to make alternative texts more useful and better highlighted. From now on, images that will include descriptions will be marked with an “ALT” badge, which will allow the text to be read directly by clicking on it. A long-awaited change, since currently, it is necessary to perform several tedious manipulations to access it.

Twitter said only 3% of users will have access for a month, before the features roll out to everyone in April 2022.
