According to New York Timesthe society Twitter hasn’t paid his rent in San Francisco for a few weeks.

The social network would even be sued by its owner, California Property Trust.

Twitter would (also) save rent

By taking control of Twitter at the end of October last year, Elon Musk had indicated that he wanted to make valuable savings. It started with the layoff of thousands of employees, but it looks like the American company has also decided to save a few thousand dollars…by stopping paying its rent.

Indeed, the Twitter company has based its headquarters in San Francisco, in the Hatford building. According to the very serious New York Timesthe California Property Trust group, owner of the premises, is said to have filed a complaint with the San Francisco court, concerning a total of $136,250 in unpaid rent.

Debts galore for the blue bird

The lessor indicates that he warned the company on December 16 last concerning the unpaid rents, leaving in passing a period of five days for the network to settle its debts. Debts which have therefore not been regularized by Elon Musk, who would have lost several billion dollars in 2022.

Also in December, the same Twitter company was sued for refusing to pay for two charter flights this time, for a sum of around $200,000.

For the time being, Elon Musk (just like Twitter) has not commented on the company’s various unpaid bills. The American billionaire, however, wanted to send the following message to his 124 million subscribers on December 31, 2022: “ Sometimes it’s better to make your pizzas at home “. A tweet obviously related to the case between Greta Thunberg and Andrew Tate.
