Twitter: network traffic plummeting since the start of the year

The traffic to Twitter would have continued to decline, according to figures given by Cloudflare.

Since its takeover less than a year ago by Elon Musk, Twitter has been a chain of controversy and complications, which seemed like bad publicity for advertisers. But they would not be the only ones to finally snub the network, some of the users would also distance themselves.

However, if optimism is in order for the blue bird, the volume of visits seems to indicate difficulties from which the new rival Threads could well benefit.

That’s according to network traffic numbers posted by Cloudflare CEO Matthew Prince. We can thus observe that since last January, Twitter traffic has continued to decline, with a particularly notable drop recently, surely due to the browsing limits imposed. A trend that will be difficult to reverse?

The numbers speak for themselves, as you can see from the graph above. The concurrent occurrence of the competitor created by Meta and the problems registered by Twitter in order to fight against bots and the collection of data by the creators of AI models did not do Elon Musk’s platform any good. However, it seems that it is indeed a basic trend.

Suffice to say that faced with these data, Twitter will be pushed to quickly return to normal, and above all perhaps to impose more stability on the social network, which keeps many fans. Will a quieter operation of the machine be enough to bring Internet users back to the site and bring the platform back to higher levels?
