the Safety Mode of Twitter
is deployed on a larger scale and aims to achieve a more serene network.

The function takes care of automatically blocking disturbing elements. Explanations.

Twitter emphasizes security

Late last year, Twitter was testing a Safety Mode (or “Safety Mode”) on its platform, a new feature aimed at reducing disruptive interactions. A security function then deployed to a small panel of users, on iOS, Android and the web version of the platform.

Once activated, the function Safety Mode takes care of temporarily blocking, for seven days, accounts that use potentially harmful language (insults and/or hateful remarks), or those that send repetitive and unsolicited replies or mentions. The accounts in question will thus be automatically blocked.

A visibly conclusive test phase, since Twitter today announces the deployment on a larger scale of this Safety Mode, since about 50% of Twitter accounts in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Ireland and New Zealand will be able to benefit from it. To see now if this function will soon also be available for non-English speaking accounts.
