Twitter: the legal team of the social network would accuse Elon Musk of having violated a confidentiality agreement

The Musk-Twitter soap opera continues. After the takeover suspension was announced, Elon Musk explained that he received a call from Twitter’s legal team accusing him of violating a non-disclosure agreement by revealing the sample size used by the company to verify the extent of the phenomenon of fake accounts on the platform.

Another twist. The announcement of the temporary suspension of the takeover of the social network has caused confusion in the markets. The Tesla boss, who has also indicated that he is involved in the takeover of Twitter, said on Friday that it is suspended “pending details on the calculation that fake accounts and accounts that spread spam actually represent less than 5% of users” of the social network.

The businessman added, a few hours later, that his team was studying “a sample of 100 accounts” to verify the calculation of the company. Asked by a user about this method, the Tesla boss then clarified that this sample size is “what Twitter uses to calculate this 5% of fake or spam accounts”.

A statement that obviously did not please the leaders of the social network since it was confidential information.

By responding to this user, Elon Musk would then have violated a confidentiality agreement.

Sunday morning, the boss of SpaceX returned to the less than 5% of false accounts by estimating that he had never seen an analysis establishing it. “Chances are that there are more than 90% daily active users […]. It is very surprising that the most popular tweets of all time were liked by only 2% of daily active users,” he said.
