Two arrests after the discovery of insulting graffiti on the RC Lens bus in Paris

Two people were arrested after the discovery of graffiti on the coach of the Racing Club de Lens football team, on the road on Saturday 1er May in Paris, learned Agence-France-Presse (AFP), from a police source.

The bus was tagged in the night from Friday to Saturday in Boulogne-Billancourt (Hauts-de-Seine), near the Parc des Princes. According to images circulating on social networks, the Lensois vehicle was soiled with yellow tags “PSG”, “Paris SG”, “Ultras Paris” or “Shitty consenguin” (sic).

These graffiti are reminiscent of the banner “Pedophiles, unemployed, consanguineous: welcome to the Ch’tis” briefly displayed by Parisian supporters in a platform of the Stade de France on March 29, 2008 during the final of the Coupe de la Ligue PSG-Lens, in reference to the successful film by Dany Boon. Five supporters had been convicted by the courts in this case, receiving fines and stadium bans.

“Paris-Saint-Germain strongly condemns the intolerable acts committed against RC Lens by individuals claiming to be supporters of the club”, reacted the PSG in a press release.

“Police investigations are underway. The club reserves the right to take all appropriate sanctions and legal measures if it appears that some of its supporters are associated with these shameful acts ”, adds the PSG, saying to bring “His support and sympathy for RC Lens and its supporters”.

For its part, the Artesian club did not wish to comment on the case, a few hours from a decisive meeting at the Parc des Princes against Paris-Saint-Germain on Saturday afternoon. Paris-SG, second in Ligue 1, receives RC Lens, fifth, on Saturday (5 p.m.) for a crucial duel in the race for the title and for European places.

“We will focus on our match, there is nothing planned for the moment”, a spokesperson for the club told AFP, nevertheless hinting that Lens was considering filing a complaint.

The bus has since been cleaned, although there are still some traces.
