no. Two climbers, believed to be from Switzerland, died in a fall on the Italian side of the Matterhorn. As the Italian news agency Ansa reports, their bodies were recovered by the Aosta Valley mountain rescue service on Tuesday morning and taken to Cervinia.

According to the report, rescue workers were alerted on Monday evening after the two climbers failed to return from their excursion. They had crashed in the area of the Colle del Leone mountain pass and were found at an altitude of 3100 meters. They probably fell about 400 meters down.

It is unclear how the accident happened. It is possible, for example, that one of the two climbers slipped and dragged his climbing partner into the abyss. The official identification of the victims is still in progress, but according to Ansa they should be Swiss.
