Two injured – Oberndorf: Gas leak in company

Carbon monoxide escaped from an office building in Oberndorf on Thursday around 4 p.m. as part of construction work. According to the Red Cross, 27 people had to be brought to safety.

The fire department received an alarm message in the afternoon. “Probably gas leakage after cutting work in the ground,” it was initially said. The fire department responded. It turned out that cutting work was taking place with a gasoline-powered device in the sales room on the ground floor of a company. This resulted in a greatly increased carbon monoxide emission. A worker had previously collapsed and his colleagues raised the alarm. The Red Cross brought two injured people to the Oberndorf hospital. The fire department brought 27 people – who were working on the upper floors – to safety. After three hours, the Floriani were able to leave again. The Oberndorf fire department was on site with 4 vehicles and 16 members.
