Netflix will clean up over the next few hours by removing several programs, including two completely cult films. Here is the entire list of imminent departures.
The week’s Netflix releases kicked off with Emily the Criminal, The New Adventures of Aladdin and its sequel Alad’2 as well as season 6 of the reality show Love is Blind. From February 15, the iconic Footloose with Kevin Bacon will get subscribers moving at home. But like every month, there will also be a wave of deleted films, series, documentaries and shows. And this week, we have to say goodbye to two great classics made by the same person.
Two great cinema classics removed from Netflix
Not all of the new Netflix releases for February 2024 are available yet. In the coming hours, subscribers will be able to watch Footloose and another musical feature film, Crossroads with Britney Spears. And there is also a question of music for one of the departures of the week. The wonderful Back to the Future by Robert Zemeckis with Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd will be removed by February 15 from Netflix.
We follow a young high school student, Marty McFly, who will find himself traveling through time aboard a DeLorean customized by a not-so-mad scientist. After all these years, it’s still as cult, especially the scene where Michael J. Fox himself plays the song Jonnhy B Goode by Chuck Berry on the guitar. You can rush to Netflix to (re)discover it before it leaves.
The other monument of the 7th art which is experiencing its last moments on Netflix is also a film directed by Zemeckis. “Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re going to get ». The funny and moving Forrest Gump will be unavailable from this Wednesday, February 14. What does it say? The story of a child, with a motor disability and suffering from autistic disorders, who will be unwittingly involved in the greatest moments in the history of the United States such as the Vietnam War, the hippie revolution, and will even become a ping pong prodigy, among other things.
Other departures from films, series, docs and shows for week 7
Forrest Gump and Back to the Future will be removed from Netflix on February 14 and 15 respectively, with other shows to follow. The firm with the red N is in fact doing a little cleaning with around ten films, series, documentaries or shows which will disappear from tomorrow. Here is the full list.
