Chinese manufacturer Okai has launched two new electric scooters called Neon and Neon Lite. Their main differences are in terms of autonomy and price.

Founded in 2011, the Chinese company Okai is now present in around twenty countries. Its catalog is mainly made up of electric scooters, and welcomes two newcomers: the Okai Neon and Neon Lite. This duo emphasizes reasonable prices and personalization of the user experience.

The counter of each scooter is customizable via the brand’s mobile application, available on iOS and Android. It is thus possible to change the dial of the screen. Choose the color of LEDs nestled in the steering column and at deck level is also possible.

30 and 40 km range

The Neon and Neon Lite embed NFC technology: with it, you can unlock your scooter from the application or with a qualified card “intelligentby the brand. The application also allows you to view your journeys, change your driving mode or even check your range.

What elements differentiate the two models? Autonomy in the first place, 30 kilometers for the Neon Lite, against 40 kilometers for the classic Neon. Logically, the loading time is longer on the latter: 6 hours in total, compared to 4.5 hours for the Lite. The product page also mentions a rear suspension on the Neon.

150 euro difference

In terms of dimensions, the first is intended to be shorter (1085 mm), but slightly higher (1140 mm) than its big sister (1145 mm in length, 1130 mm in height). For the rest, everything is identical: power of 600 W, maximum speed of 25 km/h, disc brakes at the rear, black and white colors at the time of purchase.

Obviously, the prices are opposed: the Okai Neon Lite is available on the official website of the brand at 499 euros, which places it as a direct competitor of the Xiaomi Mi Scooter 3. When the Neon climbs to 649 euros .
