(dpa) A gunman shot dead two people in a supermarket in Oregon over the weekend. The police in the city of Bend announced that according to the first results of the investigation, a shooter opened fire in the parking lot in front of the supermarket on Sunday evening (local time), then ran into the store and killed at least two people with shots.

Another person believed to be the shooter was also found dead in the store. The police did not fire any shots. The background to the fact was initially unclear.

Biden will comment on the topic on Tuesday

Over the weekend, deadly shootings also broke out in other US cities, including New York and Chicago, killing several people. The United States has long struggled with massive levels of gun violence.
