Two perpetrators on the run – while looking after the granddaughter: Grandma attacked with a knife

Mysterious bloody deed near Graz: early Thursday afternoon in Eggersdorf, a 55-year-old woman from Burgenland was attacked by two men with a knife and seriously injured. The woman was supervising her granddaughter. A major manhunt for the perpetrators was initially unsuccessful.

The brutal attack occurred in a single-family house in the Buchegg district. The two perpetrators stabbed the woman in the back several times – according to the police, it was an attempted robbery.

The 55-year-old suffered serious injuries and was flown to the Graz regional hospital by rescue helicopter. She should be out of danger. The two perpetrators are then likely to have fled with the woman’s car.

Search for the alarm unsuccessful for the time being
An alarm manhunt initiated immediately, during which a helicopter was also in action, was ended around 3 p.m., but a local search continues, according to the police. Investigations into the background of the crime are also in full swing.
