Now Uber Eats is finally available in Germany: The food delivery service initially started its service in Berlin.

Almost every child in the USA knows the food delivery service Uber Eats, but in Europe and especially in Germany other top dogs have spread over the past few years. That is about to change: The offshoot of the passenger transport app has also been available in Germany since yesterday: Uber Eats started on Wednesday with 200 cooperating restaurants, initially in Berlin.

The districts of Berlin-Mitte and parts of Prenzlauer Berg, Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg and Neukölln are currently connected. An expansion of the service area is already in progress, as the company says. Similar to the competition from Lieferando, for example, you can choose your restaurant in the corresponding iOS or Android app and pay directly via smartphone and even give tips. Uber Eats is aiming for a maximum delivery time of 30 minutes.

“In the coming weeks we will optimize the service step by step and expand our offer with the help of feedback from restaurants, delivery companies, couriers and users,” said a spokesman for Uber. The company is pleased to be bringing one of the most successful delivery services in the world to Germany. The demand is very high: in the past year alone, attempts were made to use the Uber Eats app 500,000 times.
