Ubisoft: 14.3% increase in half-year turnover


(CercleFinance.com) – Ubisoft publishes a turnover of 836 ME for the first half of its 2023/24 financial year, up 14.3% compared to the same period a year earlier.

The publisher announces a record level of ‘net bookings’ during the half-year, at 822 ME, signaling an increase of 17.6% in the space of twelve months.

Ubisoft notably highlights ‘net bookings’ of 554.8 ME in the 2nd quarter, an increase of +36.6%, well beyond the objective of around 350 ME, ‘in particular thanks to much higher revenues ‘stronger than expected coming from the back-catalogue, coming from its underlying outperformance and its monetization through partnerships’.

During the first half of its fiscal year, Ubisoft recorded an operating profit (IFRS) of 16.1 ME (compared to -215.3 ME a year earlier), and a non-IFRS operating profit of 43.5 ME (compared to -139 ME a year earlier).

Consequently, the non-IFRS diluted EPS stood at 0.01 euro (vs -0.93 euro a year earlier) and the IFRS EPS stood at -0.28 euro, compared to -1.58 euro previously.

For the 3rd quarter, Ubisoft anticipates net bookings of around €610 million and estimates that ‘the outperformance recorded in the second quarter and the current good momentum of Ubisoft’s brands reinforce confidence for the rest of the year’

For the entire 2023/24 financial year, the company confirms its forecasts of strong growth in net bookings and non-IFRS operating profit of around €400 million.
