Ubisoft is preparing multiple remakes for Assassin’s Creed – Gamosaurus

At the beginning of 2023, Ubisoft announced that it wanted to refocus its projects around a flagship license. Today, Yves Guillemot, CEO of the company, announces that multiple remakes are in preparation for Assassin’s Creed. This is while many other original titles have already been announced. A future that takes no risks, which will please shareholders. It’s not like Ubisoft has sought to put itself in danger with its releases over the last 10 years anyway.

By focusing on the future of the company’s portfolio and the future ofAssassin’s CreedYves Guillemot has Games as a Service. Unfortunately, although titles like
Rainbow Six Siege Or XDefiant are mentioned, no trace ofInfinity here. However, this does not prevent Ubisoft from discussing a diverse future for its flagship license. Even if it means releasing games more frequently over the years.

“The goal is to release Assassin’s Creed games more regularly, but not for it to be the same experience every year. There’s a lot of great stuff coming, including Assassin’s Creed Hexe, which we’ve announced, which will be a very different game from Assassin’s Creed Shadows.”

This is something that already seems to be underway. In a little over a year, we will have Assassin’s Creed Mirage, marking a return to basics. Then, on November 15, Assassin’s Creed Shadows will mark the continuation of the open world adventures. In parallel with this we find Assassin’s Creed Hexe who wants to try a new genre on mobile.

With the planned remakes, the license Assassin’s Creed still has a bright future ahead of it. Especially since it would be an opportunity for Ubisoft to revisit certain titles to push their concepts. We can thus imagine much more advanced naval battles for Black Flag, integrating at the same time a PvP multiplayer version. But that would be shooting yourself in the foot after having struggled to get out Skull & Bones. Unity would be a more promising title with its cooperative campaign.

“First, players can be excited about some of the remakes, which will allow us to revisit some of the games we’ve created in the past and modernize them. There are universes in some of our older Assassin’s Creed games that are still extremely rich.”
