Ubisoft is reportedly working on a new PvP and Battle Arena oriented game

Ubisoft still has plenty of projects in the pipeline, especially when it comes to PvP-oriented games like Pathfinderwhich would be a new attempt by the publisher in the ruthless world of Battle Royale. Tom Hendersonwhich is at the origin of many scoops recently, has once again published an article on the Exputer site in which he returns to a new project which would be in progress at Ubisoft, with sources which indicate to him that this game would tend to eyeing the genre side of the Battle Arena.

Ubisoft wants its Overwatch?

He then declares that eight of his sources tell him that the game would for the moment be called Project Q, a name that we saw in the famous Nvidia leak, and that it would be entrusted to the Bordeaux studio of Ubisoft. In an email sent for internal playtests of the game, Ubisoft would then have described this project as being a “ innovative and modern PvP and Battle Arena gameplay “.

Two game modes would then be on the program in the Project Q. The first would be named Showdown, and would then simply take over the Battle Royale systembut with only four teams of two.

The second mode would be named Battle Zone and would represent the Battle Arena side of the title, with two teams of four who would compete to score up to 100 points by taking control of specific points on the map. Henderson then compares this to the Hardpoint mode of call of duty.

The game would therefore offer several heroes to embody, and the visual style of the title would be closer to a cartoon aspect à la Overwatch Where Knockout City, so with lots of colors. Henderson also specifies that the title would still be at an early stage in its development.

We will have to take it all with a grain of salt once again, but we will keep it all in the back of our minds during the next Ubisoft Forwards.
