Ubisoft: Project Q, the Battle Arena recently unveiled by the publisher, is also canceled

It’s not time to party at Ubisoft right now. With the objective of achieving gargantuan savings after a year 2022 below expectations, the publisher has dropped the ax on multiple projects in recent months, especially on games that have not yet been unveiled at the time. General public. But Insider Gaming, via the very knowledgeable Tom Hendersonasserts that a game somewhat unknown to the public has also been removed from the schedules, since Project Q would indeed be among the victims.

Another project nipped in the bud

This name may not mean anything to you, but Ubisoft had formalized its existence recently, precisely after a massive leak of the game which had been relayed by Tom Henderson at the time. It was a Battle Arena project that had been confirmed via a simple artwork, visible at the top of this article.

The title should have started playtest phases soon, but Ubisoft has obviously changed its plans. A post on the game’s Discord reveals that Project Q will not reach the end of its development :

The first closed test was a big milestone for us because of all the hard work the team put in, your amazing support, and your great hospitality! We loved the incredible energy that reigned on this Discord, it was our fuel for this project. Your feedback has been invaluable and allowed us to grow as developers to do our best for you, our players. All these warm moments make this announcement more difficult to formulate: unfortunately we have to cancel our upcoming closed tests as Project Q will not continue development. This also means that we will have to shut down this Discord server. We have no further information to share at this time but we would like to thank you all for your passion and love for Project Q. »

We don’t know yet if Project Q was included in the last three canceled games or if it is another collateral victim of Ubisoft’s savings plan.
