Ubisoft has announced that it will discontinue both support and online services for some older games. Among other things, this eliminates the possibility of using the multiplayer mode in games such as Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry 3 and others.
It is not uncommon for services to be shut down for games and systems. Over time, these have become obsolete or forgotten. As early as April 2022, Ubisoft announced the closure of online services for over 90 older games.
The reason given was that the company wants to use the resources to provide newer and more popular titles. The decision was made, among other things, because of the interest that the players show in the titles. (Source: Ubisoft)
Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry 3 and more: Ubisoft discontinues services
Now Ubisoft mucks out again for the same reason and announces the Closure of online services for 15 more games on. These include parts of the Assassin’s Creed series, Far Cry 3, Rayman Legends, Splinter Cell: Blacklist and ZombiU.
Due to the closure of the online services, the following things will change for you:
- Going forward, you will no longer be able to play these titles in multiplayer, link Ubisoft accounts, or use any other online features.
- It will no longer be possible to access or install DLCs.
- Games that require an online connection can only be used in offline mode.

The shutdown of online services applies only to the original releases. This means that new versions, such as Assassin’s Creed 3 and Far Cry 3, will continue to be supported.
