Ubisoft: Skull and Bones postponed again and 3 unknown games canceled!

Ubisoft starts his year very badly (a bit like Frontier Developments) taking stock of the sales of the last few months, and they are not good. Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope and Just Dance 2023 did not meet with the expected successand the studio plans to restructure.

It will first go through a new postponement (the sixth!) of Skull and Bonesyes… The multiplayer game with pirates is long overdue, and last I heard, its release date was set for March 9, 2023. Ubisoft announces that the title will now be released “early 2023-2024”, which corresponds to the fiscal year which will begin next April. The title could thus be delayed by a few weeks (or even months) only, phew? As a reminder, an open beta must take place before launch.

Ubisoft also announces thatit cancels the development of three games in production, which had not been publicly revealed. They are added to the four titles already canceled last year, Ghost Recon Frontline and Splinter Cell VR were among the victims. The studio wants to focus on developing fewer video games at the same time, even if it means restructuring and reducing its production costs this year. The idea is obviously to reduce the damage.

To reassure investors, Ubisoft nevertheless reminded thatit will be released this year Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and Assassin’s Creed: Mirage (if there is no postponement), as well as other games premium yet unannounced, including ” a big title “. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is not even mentioned, but Skull and Bones will also be there, you can pre-order it in edition Limited at €79.90 on Amazon.
