Ubisoft suspends Twitter ads

It all started when a user shared an advertising campaign against neo-Nazism on social media, highlighting the alarming frequency with which the term “Hitler was right” (“Hitler was right“) is written. To which another user responds that Jewish communities maintain “a dialectical hatred of white people” – post since deleted. And Elon Musk to approve it. Implicitly, this little conspiracy channel seems to agree with the statement “Hitler was right” in context. In short.

It’s funny, it’s always the Nazis who have the bad role.

To drive the point home, the NGO MediaMatters published a survey showing that advertisements could be associated with racist, hateful or fascist posts. For example, a beautiful ad for the Apple Mac is juxtaposed with clear and frank support for Hitler and his ideology. Current CEO Linda Yaccarino had, however, promised that advertising spaces would never be found near hateful content of this kind (perhaps it would be better to ban Hitler supporters on sight to begin with?). As a result, Twitter is experiencing an exodus of multinationals: Apple, Disney, IBM, Lionsgate, Comcast, Paramount and Warner Bros. have all suspended their campaigns.

The media Axios was able to confirm that Ubisoft had joined the movement. The Guillemot empire recently ran a promotional campaign for Assassin’s Creed Nexus, the VR episode of the hooded franchise. Their ad was viewed 10 million times before being pulled.

For now, no one knows when this exodus will stop, if it will reverse course, or how Twitter’s finances will fare in the future. Forbes reports that many publicity pundits have called on Linda Yaccarino to resign, without success. Elon Musk is suingthermonuclear” to MediaMatters to clear his honor. To be continued.
