With the hegemony of Fifadifficult for a studio or a publisher to launch an assault on the football game market, and we can see that even eFootballfire ESP, tripped over the carpet recently. So inevitably, when a new actor comes to invite himself on the ground, it is a small event in itself. UFL had been announced at the last Gamescom, and it was still hard to know what to expect. The title had given us an appointment this evening to find out more, and it is via a long presentation that we can finally have the first details on UFL.
A supposedly fair free-to-play game
UFL is therefore developed by the English studio Strikerz Inc.and as we already knew, its economic model will be that of free-to-play.
Then immediately comes to mind the question of pay-to-win, but the studio ensures that UFL will be fair to play (that makes expressions), with fair matches between players during matchmaking. In sum, the game would systematically put us in front of opponents at a similar levelwith a progression curve that would help improve.
We can create our own club, and the more we play, the more our team can grow, with player transfers and the choice of different strategies to adopt. We will then find a League mode to become the best online, but also online matches without ranking, with 2vs2 and even 3vs3. Free-to-play requires, we will also be entitled to missions and challenges to perform.
UFL or FUT?
The strength ofUFL, according to the studio, it is its evolutionary aspect. The game is divided by seasons, and does not require getting a new version every year like Fifa (it was moreover the promise ofeFootball).
Inevitably, like any good self-respecting football game, UFL will be entitled to ambassadors, and not just any. We thus find Oleksandr Zinchenko, Romelu Lukaku, Roberto Firmino and Kevin De Bruyne as standard bearers of the game, and at the head of the gondola, Cristiano Ronaldowho was present for this video.
For now, UFL has signed partnerships with several major clubs, includingAS Monaco with us, as well as:

- Sporting CP (Portugal)
- Celtic (Scotland)
- Rangers (Scotland)
- Besiktas JK (Turkey)
- Shakhtar Donetsk (Ukraine)
Through this long presentation video, however, we can find it unfortunate that the gameplay is not really a priority here, but the studio seems to want to present itself in detail so that we take it seriously.
Difficult to see the real originality in the proposal forUFL through these excerpts. Especially since the economic model already inspires fears, and some are afraid that the title is eyeing a little too much on the FUT mode of Fifa.
No specific date has been announced for UFLbut the title will release well in 2022, when it is ready, on PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series.
