Ugo Humbert wins the Halle tournament by beating Andrey Rublev

It is the best victory of his (young) career. The French Ugo Humbert won Sunday June 20 the tournament on grass of Halle (Germany) by beating the Russian Andrey Rublev 6-3, 7-6 (7-4). The 22-year-old tennis player signs his first victory in an ATP 500 event.

Unlike his other matches at Halle this week, Humbert only needed two innings to take down Rublev, 7e global. Thanks to this victory, the left-hander will climb from the 31e at the 25e place in the ATP ranking. Humbert concluded in style a tournament in which he also managed to beat another member of the Top 10, Alexander Zverev (6e), in the second round.

This third title after Antwerp (indoors) and Auckland (hard, outdoors) in 2020 bodes well just one week before the start of the Wimbledon tournament.
