Ukraine-A nuclear site affected but normal radiation-regulator


KYIV, June 25 (Reuters) – Russian shelling damaged a nuclear research facility in northeastern Ukraine’s Kharkiv on Saturday, the state nuclear regulator said.

The strike damaged some of the buildings and infrastructure at the site but did not affect the area housing the nuclear fuel and radiation levels remain normal, the regulator – the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate (SNRIU) – said in an online message. line.

“The probability of new damage (…) which can directly affect the state of nuclear and radiological safety remains high due to the bombardments by Russian troops”, however added the organization.
