Preparing for the counter-offensive

This is the largest German delivery since the start of the war. This Saturday, May 13, Volodymyr Zelensky visited the President and the Head of the Italian Government to thank them for their support: “I came to thank you for your help, for the good of our country, because we want peace”, he told Giorgia Meloni. This European tour is an opportunity for the Ukrainian head of state to prepare a counter-offensive.

“He is trying to have a diplomatic tour to ensure the constant support of the European Union and above all, he will ask for additional armaments because he really needs them for this war to end by the end of the year”, explained Patrick Martin-Genier, specialist in European affairs. The United Kingdom also announced on Thursday the delivery of long-range missiles, a first since the start of the conflict and a new crucial asset. For the moment, Volodymyr Zelensky does not put his counter-offensive plan into practice and prefers to wait because a premature launch would lead to many losses.
