Emmanuel Macron will go to Romania and Moldova next week, announces the services of the Élysée. The head of state could also go to kyiv, while the Russian invasion of Ukraine has lasted for more than 100 days. In a press release, the Élysée reports that France is ready to participate in an “operation” to unblock the port of Odessa.

Emmanuel Macron will travel to Romania on Tuesday to meet the French troops stationed there, then to Moldova on Wednesday to affirm his support for this country affected by the war in Ukraine, the Elysée announced on Friday. The French presidency specified that a visit by the Head of State to Ukraine would take place on a date which has not yet been fixed, when it will be “useful to President (Volodymyr) Zelensky”. In the press release, the Élysée specifies that France stands ready to participate in an “operation” to unblock the port of Odessa.

The French presidency also insists that France wants Ukraine to emerge “victorious” from the conflict with Russia, responding to questions raised by a call from President Emmanuel Macron to “not humiliate Russia”. “As the President had the opportunity to say, we want victory for Ukraine. We want the territorial integrity of Ukraine to be restored. We want this conflict, this war of Russia against the ‘Ukraine cease as soon as possible,’ an adviser to the president said.
