Ukraine holds ‘collaborator’ village chief as counteroffensive unfolds – president’s office

The Deputy Head of the President’s Office, Kyrylo Tymoshenko, posted on Telegram on Friday a photo of a Ukrainian soldier posing with a bound and blindfolded man in civilian clothes.

The man’s face was not clearly visible, but Tymoshenko wrote that he was the “head of the administration of the treacherous village of Ivanivka”, a village in the Kharkiv region previously under Russian occupation.

The village appears to be one of more than 20 settlements the Ukrainian army says it recaptured during a September counter-offensive against Russia, with Kyiv seeking to regain territory lost since the February 24 invasion.
