PARIS (Reuters) – A Russian missile hit a railway station in Balakliia, in northeastern Ukraine, on Thursday, injuring at least seven people, the governor of the Kharkiv region, Oleh Syniehoubov, reported.

“The injured were in the carriages of a passenger train,” he said on Telegram messaging.

The town of Balakliia, occupied by the Russian army at the start of the conflict, was recaptured by Ukraine in the fall of 2022.

The Russian army has intensified its strikes for several weeks in the region of Kharkiv, a city located around thirty kilometers from the border with Russia.
