(Reuters) – Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday urged executives of companies in the military-industrial complex to ensure the military quickly obtains all the weapons it needs to fight in Ukraine.

“The most important task facing our military-industrial complex is to provide our units and forces present on the front line with everything they need: the weapons, equipment, ammunition and materiel necessary in the shortest possible time,” Vladimir Putin said.

“It is also important to refine and significantly improve the technical characteristics of the weapons and equipment of our soldiers,” added the Russian president.

Vladimir Putin was speaking as he visited an arms factory in the city of Tula, 200 kilometers south of Moscow.
