MOSCOW (Reuters) – President Vladimir Putin consulted with commanders of the Russian armed forces on Friday on the conduct of operations in Ukraine in the short and medium terms, the Kremlin confirmed on Saturday.

The head of the Kremlin spent the day at the headquarters of the joint command for the “special operation” in Ukraine, according to his spokesman Dmitry Peskov. The location of the HQ has not been disclosed.

On a video released by the Kremlin, we see Vladimir Putin sitting at a large round table with a dozen people, including Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and the Chief of Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, General Valeri Guerassimov.

He is then filmed in the context of another meeting with officers.

“We are going to listen to the commanders (…), I would like to hear their proposals on our actions in the short and medium terms”, can we hear him say.
