The head of Renaissance’s European list, Valérie Hayer, was the guest of La Grande interview Europe 1-CNews this Tuesday morning. At Sonia Mabrouk’s microphone, the MEP returned to the influence of the war in Ukraine in Europe and believes that parties like the National Rally and Reconquest are “the camp of renunciation and capitulation”.

The conflict drags on. For two years and the start of the Russian special operation, Moscow and kyiv have been clashing on Ukrainian soil. A war at the gates of the European Union which has direct consequences on the Twenty-Seven, with the notable surge in electricity prices over the last two years. But after an outpouring of solidarity, aid to Ukraine is crumbling in the United States and Europe.

“Today, we have a debate in the French and European debate between those who claim that the war in Ukraine has no impact on us and has no risk of calling into question our independence, and us. We who are absolutely convinced that this is the reality of things, that the security of Ukraine is our security and that we must not fall into renunciation”, explains the head of Renaissance’s list to the Europeans, Valérie Hayer.

Votes “in support of Vladimir Putin, not Ukraine”

The current MEP targets in particular the positions of La France insoumise, the National Rally and also Reconquête. She believes in particular that these parties are “the camp of renunciation and capitulation”. “We know the links between the extreme right and Vladimir Putin’s Russia. These links have been documented. They were documented by a commission of inquiry in the National Assembly, chaired by a National Rally deputy, who concludes that the extreme right is the transmission belt of the Kremlin”, she continues at the microphone of Sonia Mabrouk.

“I see the votes of the far right in the European Parliament, which are each time in support of Vladimir Putin, not Ukraine,” regrets Valérie Hayer. Before adding: “We must tell the French what the reality of everyone’s positions is. This is the challenge of this campaign. Because the moment is serious, because there is a war at the gates of Europe, because Vladimir Putin threatens us”, she concludes.
