During his traditional speech on July 14, President Emmanuel Macron spoke in particular about the current situation in Ukraine. The head of state said Russia was using gas as a “weapon of war” and that Europe had to “prepare” for a complete disruption of Russian gas supplies.
“Russia uses energy, as it uses food, as a weapon of war,” asserted the French president during a television interview. “We must now prepare for a scenario where we have to do without Russian gas entirely,” he added.
