Ukraine: Russian strike leaves nine injured in Odessa

April 23 (Reuters) – A Russian drone attack on Ukraine injured nine people in Odessa on the Black Sea coast and also targeted the capital Kyiv, Ukrainian military officials said on Tuesday.
In Odessa, four children were injured, including two infants. They were hospitalized along with three of the injured adults, Odessa region governor Oleh Kiper said on Telegram messaging.

Several residential buildings in the city were hit and caught fire, he added. At least 14 apartments were damaged, the city administration added.

The Ukrainian Air Force said Russia launched a total of 16 drones targeting Ukraine of which 15 were shot down. Two short-range Iskander ballistic missiles were also fired by Russia.

All drones targeting Kyiv were destroyed, Serhi Popko, head of the capital’s military administration, said on Telegram, adding that no damage or injuries were reported following the attack. (Written by Lidia Kelly in Lisbon, Blandine Hénault for the French version)
