Ukraine says its troops are counterattacking in two areas

March 13 (Reuters) – Ukrainian armed forces have launched counterattacks in Ukraine’s southern Mykolaiv region and eastern Kharkiv region against Russian troops, adviser to Ukraine’s Interior Minister Vadym Denysenko said during an interview on national television on Sunday.

Asked about the possibility of Russian troops blocking Kiev, the Ukrainian capital, Denysenko replied: “There is no blockade at the moment, and it is not planned in the near future.”

Reuters was unable to verify the statement regarding the counterattacks. (Report Natalia Zinets; writing Max Hunder; French version Juliette Jabkhiro)
