Ukraine will need more financial support for the country’s reconstruction than previously estimated, says the country’s Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko. “Unfortunately, the number is growing every day and, in the worst case, will increase significantly,” explains Marchenko. The current budget provides little for reconstruction and needs to be increased if possible. “The support of our international partners is of crucial importance for us,” says the minister, referring to the 18 billion euros already pledged by the EU. In August, the World Bank estimated the cost of repairing Ukraine’s infrastructure at $105 billion.

According to regional authorities, Russian shelling on the southern Ukrainian city of Cherson killed seven people and injured around 20 on Thursday. The city was shelled with artillery and multiple rocket launchers, reports regional governor Yaroslav Yanushevych. A high-rise caught fire. A bullet hit a children’s playground. “Today is another terrible page in the history of our hero city,” the governor wrote on Telegram.

Several Iranian drone instructors have been killed on Russia’s annexed Crimea. The head of the National Security and Defense Council, Oleksiy Danilov, confirms the deaths of several Iranians. This is reported by the Belarusian opposition news channel Nexta. However, Danilov does not give the exact number of Iranians killed. At the same time, he warned any Iranians who are on occupied Ukrainian territory to support the invasion of Moscow that they would also be targeted. Iran not only supplies Moscow with weapons, but also trains Russian soldiers in the use of the “Shahed 136” drones.
