Ukraine-Zelensky thanks Macron for his contribution to the new financial sanctions against Moscow


PARIS, Feb 27 (Reuters) – French President Emmanuel Macron spoke early on Sunday with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodimir Zelensky who thanked him for his contribution to the new financial sanctions against Moscow announced by the West on Saturday, the State said. Elyse in a press release.

“The Ukrainian President thanked the French President for his contribution to the collective measures concerning SWIFT, and for having responded to Ukraine’s requests for defensive military equipment”, it was specified.

Western powers announced on Saturday the exclusion of several Russian banks from the SWIFT interbank network as well as sanctions targeting the foreign currency reserves of Russia’s central bank.
