(Reuters) – One person died and another was seriously injured in a Ukrainian shelling that targeted the village of Kulbaki in western Russia, Kursk region governor Roman Starovoit said on Sunday.

“A residential building caught fire and a resident died,” Roman Starovoit said on Telegram. “Her husband suffered significant burns,” he added.

Reuters was unable to independently verify this information. Ukraine had no immediate comment.
